Start at the foot of the Old Man.
You can spend days exploring this area. From rambling walks, graded scrambles to single pitch climbs, it has got it all including some of the best views in the North of England. The area is notorious for trapping lively weather, so if you like that sort of thing come and join us in spring or autumn.
Along the way there are 2 lakes to choose from if you fancy a dip.
For the more romantic amongst you one of these lakes looks like heart, but you have to find the right spot to see it from. Exploration at its best.
Also along the way you will pass waterfalls, copper mines, disused mine entrances, and perfect picnic spots.
Once at the top you come of its top and walk onto the ridge opposite the Old Man. Made up of loose stone it is not a climbing area but you get fantastic views when walking along the top of it. Well to call it a ridge is a bit of overstatement. On one side you have a near vertical drop giving views of Goats Tarn. On the other you have flat ground, so you can see the Old Man and its flanks as they plunge down to the lake.
